Kinbom & Kessner is a collaboration between Swedish lap steel guitarist and songwriter Fredrik Kinbom (music) and German theatre writer/dramaturgist Sonja Kessner (lyrics).

Both live and work in Berlin.

The collaboration started in preparation for the THEATERSTAAT festival in June 2015. The first song, “Weckt Nicht Die Liebe”, was written almost by coincidence, and upon that followed a cycle of songs for the theatre music programme “Lieder von Liebe und Krieg” (“Songs of Love and War”), and an album of the same name which was released on 27th November 2015 featuring a guest appearance by James Williamson of Iggy & The Stooges.

Their second album “With the Beetles” was released on Sotones Records on 16th June 2017.
